Pro Tips & Delicious Variations
- If you are used to barbeque sauce in your meatloaf, then use a mix of ½ C ketchup and ½ C of your favorite barbeque sauce instead of just ketchup. Personally I don’t like it.
- For a non-vegan version, add ⅓ C grated parmesan to the final mixture.
- To kick up the flavor a bit, add some dried herbs (about ½ t each, to taste). Thyme, Basil, Parsley, Oregano, and Marjoram work well. Try making a savory ‘meatloaf’ suitable for a Thanksgiving table.
- Instead of breadcrumbs try making your own with your favorite croutons- just whizz in the food processor then add when the recipe calls for them!
- Serve on a bed of Buttery Blackened Corn with Onion (just sautee the veggies - onion cut to the size of the corn - over medium high-heat in a little vegetable oil, add smoked paprika & seasoning to taste. When done, finish with a little butter and serve)
