Pro Tips & Delicious Variations

  • Taste everything as you go and keep it slightly under-salted - the dressing is very flavorful.
  • Quinoa is a great substitute for the rice.
  • From faux-chicken through mushroom, there is a vast array of vegetarian bouillon bases out there. “Beef” bouillon and its umame kick work great for the rice or quinoa.
  • You can also serve it family style by mounding the rice in a large bowl, and then surround it with separate mounds of tempeh and sweet potato and the other mini-recipes, as well as a side plate of fresh vegetables such as Roma tomato wedges, avocado slices, or sprouted legumes. Serve the dressing in a decorative bowl with a small ladle or tablespoon.
